Cambridge Retirement Living COVID-19 Policy

Dear Residents, Families, and Responsible parties:

On Friday March 12, 2021, all personal care homes were notified by the PA Department of Human Services and encouraged to follow the NEW guidelines that were issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

These guidelines allow for in-person visitation for all residents, regardless of vaccination status, unless a facility is experiencing a current outbreak of the COVID-19 infection.

As we move forward with this recommendation and allow visitations within our facilities, we will continue to be vigilant in our continued effort to monitor everyone’s health and wellness. If we test positive for a COVID-19 as a result, we will immediately post signs at the entrances and everyone will be notified. We are all looking forward to reuniting families with their loved ones, but it is extremely important that we all remain cautious and follow the procedures outlined by the community.

We will continue to adhere to the core principles of prevention (listed below) during all visitations, and any visitors who are unable or unwilling to adhere to these core principals, will not be permitted to visit, and/or denied entry and asked to leave.

CORE PRINCIPALS OF COVID-19 INFECTION PRVENTION:

COVID-19 screening at entry. If you have signs and/or symptoms or have had close contact with someone with COVID-19, you will be denied entry, regardless of your vaccination status.

Face covering/mask must always be worn.

Proper hand hygiene and use of alcohol-based hand rub.

Must maintain social distancing from other residents and staff while in facility.

OUTDOOR VISITATION

Core principals of infection prevention listed above will be adhered to.

Outdoor visitation is preferred when possible. Even if resident and visitor are fully vaccinated, outdoor visits pose the lowest risk of transmission.

INDOOR VISITATION:

Core principals of infection prevention listed above will be adhered to.

Indoor visitation will be permitted for all residents, regardless of vaccinations tatus.

Maximum of 2 guests per resident will be allowed at any one time.

Visitation is only permitted in resident rooms are area designated by facility. If in a semi-private room, the facility will designate a meeting area away from the other residents. If occupying a semi-private room, families must coordinate with staff in advance, prior to visit.

Visitors are not permitted to leave resident room or designated area. Social distancing must always be practiced, with no contact permitted with other residents and limited contact with staff.

Indoor visitation will be permitted at the following times and will not be permitted during mealtimes.

Visitation times
(7 days a week)

9:30am-11:30am
1:30pm-3:30pm
6:30pm-8:00pm

We understand the pandemic has been difficult for everyone and you can rest assured that our staff will continue to do their part to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 within our facilities. As we move forward to the next phase, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated when they have the opportunity. It will make a difference, and in some cases, will be the difference between life and death.

Sincerely,

Susan DeMeio
