Warren, Pa–Cambridge Warren is excited to announce the return of Warm Socks!
Giving Warren County students winter socks is what the Warm Socks clothing drive is all about.
Students need socks as they go to and from school. Cambridge Warren wants to make sure they’re feet fortified and our seniors are ready to lead the charge.
COVID-19 put the damper on family visits and residents here have felt a little left out in 2020. The Warm Socks drive connects them to the Warren community and young people, whom they especially treasure.
Right now Cambridge Warren is focused on safety and safely reopening, so for a short time the future of Warm Socks was uncertain. Our team wondered; was there enough time to get the drive together? Would Cambridge Warren have to take the year off?
“We quickly decided the economic impact of COVID-19 on families in Warren County adds special urgency to the sock drive,” says Rebekah Stratton, Director of Sales for Cambridge Retirement Living. “We didn’t want to let them down.”
This will be year number three for Warm Socks, and Cambridge Warren aims to beat the record set last year for five hundred pairs.
We’ll bring the socks to Warren Area School District HQ when the collection ends on December 11. That’s good news, says school superintendent Amy Stewart.
“Sometimes the little things are the big things, and on behalf of our kids who need them, we thank everyone who has contributed to this cause,” says Amy Stewart. “In addition, we encourage others to join the effort this year.”
Want to donate? Visit Cambridge Warren (706 Pennsylvania Avenue W.) and pop your new, unworn socks in the contactless collection box just inside the front entrance.
